Caleb Drown, Co-Founder

Caleb Drown, a Marine turned humanitarian and entrepreneur, has a complex history with alcohol. During his time in the Marines, drinking was a way to bond with his brothers-in-arms. However, the habit persisted into civilian life, leading to unhealthy patterns.

Determined to change, Caleb initially tried to manage on his own, but isolation made it difficult. Through recovery programs, he learned the importance of community and faith, embracing God's strength and the support of others.

Cutting back on drinking, Caleb missed the complex flavors of good ale. Flavored water just didn’t cut it. Then his little sister introduced him to non-alcoholic beer; craft non-alcoholic beer that actually tasted good. 

Training for a triathlon brought a fresh perspective on health and well-being. Dissatisfied with sugary hydration options, he started drinking NA beers, savoring them after long runs or bike rides. The experience was exhilarating – a cold beer, rich in electrolytes and beneficial for recovery, without the downsides of alcohol.

Inspired, Caleb saw an opportunity. While training in the scenic Appalachian mountains, he envisioned a unique, craft non-alcoholic beer for other life adventurers. In 2023, he launched Bright Barrel, aiming to offer meticulously crafted brews for those seeking an alternative to alcohol while maintaining a bright mind and a healthy lifestyle.

Brian Garrison, Co-Founder

Brian Garrison joined Bright Barrel as a co-founder in 2024. Growing up in Western North Carolina, Brian’s family instilled in him the value of diligence. His early summers were spent mowing lawns, painting homes, baling hay, and finding satisfaction in honest work. Driven by the entrepreneurial dream, he eventually founded his own insurance business and settled in Hickory, North Carolina, with his wife, Laura.

Brian and Caleb met over an insurance consultation and immediately connected. Through several follow-up conversations, Brian discovered that Caleb’s vision resonated deeply with his own belief in improving people's lives. Seeing the potential impact of Bright Barrel, they decided to join forces.
